Sucker Punch Productions has announced that Legends, the free four‑player cooperative multiplayer mode for Ghost of Yōtei, launches on 10 March for PlayStation 5. The update was revealed in a trailer shown during Sony's State of Play stream.
The Legends mode mirrors the studio's previous multiplayer offering for Ghost of Tsushima, pairing groups of up to four players to tackle wave‑based encounters and boss fights. The new content pits players against the "demonic Yōtei Six," apparent mythological reinterpretations of the Yōtei Six that protagonist Atsu faced in the single‑player campaign.
The release trailer highlights four of the mode's antagonists — Spider, Oni, Kitsune and Snake — each presented with humanoid forms infused with folkloric and otherworldly traits. The footage shows four‑player teams pushing through hordes of lesser enemies across varied locales and changing seasons to reach the demonic Yōtei Six.
Players will select from four separate classes, each equipped with distinct skills, weapons and roles intended to complement cooperative play. Specific class names and detailed abilities have not yet been disclosed by Sucker Punch.
The Legends update will be provided free to all owners of Ghost of Yōtei on PS5. The studio has not announced any additional paid DLC connected to the mode at the time of the reveal.
