BAM! Entertainment
Overview
BAM! Entertainment was an American game publisher, formed in San Jose, California in October 1999 by Ray Musci. The company name was derived from its trade name, Bay Area Multimedia. BAM! had distribution deals with Cartoon Network, Ubisoft, Disney and Sony, as well as a British development office located in London, England.
In 2002, BAM! suffered from financial difficulties, which threatened to get them delisted from NASDAQ. Their London office was purchased by VIS Entertainment in 2004, but that company closed a year later. Following the expiration of their deal with Ubisoft, BAM! signed a deal with Acclaim Entertainment that same year, but this would also end when Acclaim went bankrupt not long afterwards. BAM! then acquired VIS, and the two companies went bankrupt by the end of 2005.
