Director Naoki Hamaguchi has confirmed that the third entry in the Final Fantasy VII Remake trilogy now has a final title (most likely a subtitle), according to an interview with GameSpot reported by Nintendo Life. Hamaguchi said the team narrowed the choice to two potential titles during Paris Games Week in October 2025, with creative director Tetsuya Nomura making the ultimate decision. Hamaguchi served as co-director on the Remake project alongside Motomu Toriyama.

The announcement marks a notable milestone in the long-running remake project that began with Final Fantasy VII Remake and continued with Final Fantasy VII Rebirth. Details on the confirmed subtitle have not been published, leaving fans to speculate on what the concluding chapter will be called and how it will close out this reimagining of the original 1997 classic.
