Microsoft has released three new dynamic backgrounds for Xbox Series X and Series S consoles to celebrate its Indie Selects 2026 programme.

The set ranges from a pared-back, minimalist option to two more complex animated scenes. The simpler background offers a clean, low-motion look, while the other two feature more activity on screen, including moving characters and mechanical elements such as lifts and escalators.

All three backgrounds are aimed at adding a splash of colour and motion to the Xbox dashboard for Series X and Series S owners. Still images and additional details have been published by Pure Xbox.
