Embark Studios has confirmed that both Arc Raiders and The Finals were targeted in what the studio described as 'extensive' and 'co‑ordinated' distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attacks.
The attacks affected online services for both titles, with players reporting login failures, matchmaking interruptions and wider connectivity problems while the incidents unfolded. Embark acknowledged the disruption and said internal teams are investigating the cause and working on mitigation.
Reports of problems appeared across social channels and platform status pages as users experienced difficulty accessing multiplayer features. Embark advised that restoration of services is being prioritised while mitigation measures are applied.
The studio said it is collaborating with technical partners to reduce the impact of the attacks. No widespread indication of data compromise related to the incidents has been announced by Embark.
The incidents underline the vulnerability of live-service multiplayer titles to large-scale network attacks and the operational challenge of maintaining uptime for games that rely on centralised online infrastructure.
