Nintendo has revealed that two never‑released Virtual Boy games will be playable for the first time via Nintendo Switch Online in 2026. The announcements came in the new overview trailer for the Virtual Boy - Nintendo Classics service, which launches on 17th February 2026.

Footage shown at around 3:07 of the trailer confirms two cancelled projects — Zero Racers and D‑Hopper (also labelled Dragon Hopper) — will join the service sometime during 2026. Zero Racers is being presented as a cancelled F‑Zero spin‑off, while D‑Hopper appears under its Dragon Hopper name during the reveal.

The same trailer also confirms an Intelligent Systems top‑down adventure will form part of the service’s library, alongside the other titles announced for the Virtual Boy collection. Nintendo described the additions as part of its plans to bring a wider selection of Virtual Boy software to Switch Online subscribers.

The Virtual Boy, originally released in 1995, is notable for its short commercial life and a relatively large number of cancelled or prototype projects. Making previously unreleased titles available via the Virtual Boy - Nintendo Classics package gives Nintendo fans access to games that never reached retail during the device’s original run.

Zero Racers and D‑Hopper are slated to arrive on Nintendo Switch Online during 2026, with the full Virtual Boy - Nintendo Classics service launching on 17th February 2026. Further details were reported by Nintendo Life.
