Sony has started sending messages to PlayStation 4 owners encouraging them to upgrade to the PlayStation 5, according to a report from Push Square.

The notification, which simply reads "It's time", was reportedly delivered to PS4 consoles in late January. The message was photographed by user Sahil Shaw and has circulated on social media since the image was shared.

Push Square's coverage highlights the brief phrasing of the alert and its apparent aim of nudging the remaining PS4 user base towards Sony's current-generation hardware. The report did not include an official response from PlayStation.
