Developer and publisher Rebellion has released its reimagined version of the classic arcade sports title Speedball on PlayStation 5 today, 27 January 2026.
The launch marks the console debut following a lengthy early access period on PC, during which the studio refined the modern take on the Bitmap Brothers property. A new trailer has been published to coincide with the PS5 arrival.
Speedball originally established itself as a cult favourite in the late 1980s and early 1990s on home computers. Rebellion's reimagining aims to bring the franchise's distinctive fast‑paced, futuristic sports action to current hardware while retaining the arcade spirit that earned the original its following.
