Ubisoft Barcelona, the studio behind the underwater exploration and tech in Assassin's Creed Black Flag Resynced, has gone on strike to protest the impending layoffs of 51 employees. The strike, which will last until July 16, is a response to the company's decision to cut jobs despite the game's commercial success.

The Coordinadora Sindical del Videojuego union (CSVI) is representing the studio in negotiations with Ubisoft, seeking the cancellation of the proposed layoffs, a return to the studio's previous 60 percent remote working policy, and stronger job security.
