IO Interactive, the renowned studio behind the Hitman series and 007 First Light, has announced its decision to take back full ownership of Project Fantasy, a highly anticipated online RPG. This move comes after the studio parted ways with its external funding partner, which was later confirmed to be Xbox.

The Copenhagen-based studio will now independently fund Project Fantasy, allowing it to have full creative control over the project. However, this shift has resulted in staff reductions, including the closure of its Istanbul subsidiary studio.
