Sony has announced that it will be closing the digital stores for the PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Vita, effective later this year. This move marks the end of a 20-year era of support for the consoles, which have been a staple of the gaming industry since their release.

The shutdown will begin in certain regions, with Mexico, Honduras, and Nicaragua being the first to lose access to the digital stores in August 2026. The rest of Latin America and the Middle East will follow suit later in the year, with the USA and UK set to lose access in July 2027.
