Game Informer has placed The Blood of Dawnwalker on the cover of its latest issue (No. 378), offering a 16-page deep dive into the narrative-driven role-playing game from Rebel Wolves. The studio, led by the director of The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt, invited the magazine to its Warsaw headquarters for an extended preview and developer access.
Reporters spent a full day at Rebel Wolves, conducting hours of interviews and observing two hands-off gameplay demonstrations, including one demo that has not been shown to anyone outside the studio. The resulting cover feature examines the project’s ambitions and the design lessons carried over from some of the most acclaimed RPGs of the last decade.
The piece details core elements of The Blood of Dawnwalker: a vampire-centred story built around player choice, an open structure that emphasises narrative influence, and a map designed to support branching objectives. Coverage also explores combat systems, a distinctive time mechanic, relationship dynamics and the degree to which player decisions shape the overarching plot. Central art shows protagonist Coen prominently.
Print subscribers will receive a special poster featuring the game’s key art, while the magazine’s full digital edition is available immediately via Game Informer’s platforms. The issue pairs the Dawnwalker cover story with additional features on Hell Let Loose: Vietnam, Grave Seasons, End of Abyss and the Gothic 1 Remake, plus conversations with the teams behind Stardew Valley and Donkey Kong Bananza.
The original cover reveal and feature can be read in full on Game Informer’s website: gameinformer.com — Cover Reveal: The Blood of Dawnwalker.
Rebel Wolves’ project represents one of the most closely watched independent RPG efforts to emerge from ex-CD Projekt personnel, and the Game Informer package offers the most substantial public glimpse so far into how the studio intends to translate player-driven storytelling into a modern action/RPG framework.
