Sega has cancelled its long‑teased project known internally as the "Super Game", according to the company's latest financial results. The title was touted as a major initiative within Sega's medium‑ to long‑term strategy and had been expected to appear by the end of the previous fiscal year.

The project had been described by Sega as an attempt to "create a game so revolutionary that it attracts far more active users than any of the Group’s games to date." The newly published financial documents, however, list the Super Game as cancelled, with no release date or further development milestones forthcoming.

The cancellation was confirmed in the same update that shows other initiatives continuing. Notably, reboots of classic Sega franchises Jet Set Radio and Crazy Taxi remain on the company's slate and are still being developed, according to the report.

Sega's decision removes its most ambitious, long‑promised original project from the immediate pipeline, while the firm maintains progress on refreshed entries in established intellectual properties. The financial results do not provide additional detail on the reasons for the cancellation or any associated financial write‑downs.
