MachineGames has confirmed that the Switch 2 edition of Indiana Jones and the Great Circle will retain the full content of the original release rather than being scaled back for the handheld-first platform. The studio described the port as 'just one-to-one' and insisted 'we haven't scaled back or cut content' in an interview published by Nintendo Life.

The adventure, which first launched on Xbox in 2024 and later on PS5 in 2025, reaches Nintendo's next-generation hardware on 12 May. The game is notable for its dense, torch-lit puzzles and expansive, intricately designed open areas, elements that presented a particular challenge for the team when adapting the title for Switch 2.

MachineGames framed the Switch 2 project as an optimisation exercise rather than a reduction in scope. The studio emphasised work on engine tweaks, streaming behaviour and platform-specific performance targets to preserve level geometry, scripted encounters and puzzle designers' intent without removing missions or content. Cinematics, voice work and the game's environmental puzzles are all being retained in the Switch 2 edition, according to the developer's comments.

Practical changes to accommodate the platform were described as technical adaptations rather than design compromises. MachineGames cited adjustments to memory management, asset handling and load optimisation as ways to reconcile the game's scale with Switch 2's architecture, while aiming to keep gameplay, setpieces and pacing consistent with the prior releases.

The studio also addressed control schemes and presentation across handheld and docked modes. Interface tweaks, button-mapping refinements and visual scaling options are included to ensure the title plays comfortably in both configurations, with a focus on preserving the cinematic feel of exploration and puzzle-solving regardless of screen size.

MachineGames' pedigree in delivering large single-player experiences, most recently with the Wolfenstein franchise, informed the team's approach to the Switch 2 port. The developer characterised the project as a technical crusade to bring the full experience to a new audience without compromising the game's scope or design.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle for Switch 2 arrives on 12 May. Further technical specifics and performance targets were discussed in the Nintendo Life interview with MachineGames.
