Ubisoft has formally unveiled Assassin's Creed: Black Flag Resynced, a complete remake of 2013's Assassin's Creed IV: Black Flag, confirmed for Xbox in July 2026.
Described by the publisher as "totally rebuilt from the ground up", Black Flag Resynced restores the original game's open-world pirate adventure while implementing a suite of technical and gameplay upgrades. The overview trailer highlights high-resolution textures, enhanced lighting, and combat improvements designed to make battles "faster & more fluid".
The new version aims to keep the core narrative and naval exploration that defined the original, while modernising presentation and mechanics to meet contemporary expectations. The announcement follows weeks of rumours and a brief tease from Ubisoft earlier in the week.
An official game overview trailer accompanies the reveal, providing the first extended look at how the remake intends to balance fidelity to the source material with updated systems and visuals. Further platform and edition details, including any potential bundle or release-window specifics, are expected closer to launch.
