Battlefield 6 2026 roadmap outlines new maps, ranked play and naval warfare

Battlefield Studios has published its 2026 roadmap for Battlefield 6 and free-to-play Redsec, detailing a slate of maps and systems scheduled across Seasons 3–5 alongside competitive and quality‑of‑life updates. The plan adds legacy reimaginings, a major new warground, ranked play for Redsec and the franchise's first modern naval warfare implementation.

Season 3: Railway to Golmund, Cairo Bazaar and Redsec ranked play

Season 3, due to begin in May, introduces the franchise's largest map yet: a reimagining of Railway to Golmund set in Tajikistan that follows events from Battlefield 6's campaign. Later in the season the team will deploy Cairo Bazaar, an updated take on Battlefield 3's Grand Bazaar.

Redsec, the free‑to‑play battle royale mode launched last October, will receive ranked play during Season 3, marking a significant step for the mode's competitive infrastructure.

Season 4: Naval Warfare and Tsuru Reef

Season 4, arriving in the summer, will add Naval Warfare across both Battlefield 6 and Redsec. The update includes Tsuru Reef, billed as the "biggest warground yet," which expands play across extensive sea and air spaces. New naval vehicles, aircraft carriers with operational flight decks and a dynamic wave system are listed as core features designed to increase the scale and intensity of maritime engagements.

The season also brings back Wake Island, a long‑time fan favourite, adapted for the current generation and the game's updated systems.

Season 5 and beyond: a new franchise location and holiday content

Season 5, closing out the year, teases a location wholly new to the Battlefield franchise. The studio also plans a "special holiday jackpot" comprising three maps arriving during that season.

Competitive scene and quality‑of‑life improvements

Battlefield Studios confirmed that the Open and Elite series for competitive play will kick off this year. Across all seasons the team will prioritise community requests, committing to persistent leaderboards, a spectator mode, proximity chat and a server browser with persistent servers.

The roadmap represents continued live service support following the game's October launch, with the studio positioning seasonal content and competitive features as core pillars of its year‑long plan.

Details and exact release dates remain subject to change as development progresses; the studio advises monitoring official channels for updates and patch notes.
