Neverway, a moody hybrid of action, life simulation and existential horror, has been given an October 2026 release window and a free playable prologue on Steam.

The title returned to this year’s Triple-i Initiative showcase with a new trailer and the two key announcements. The playable prologue, available now on Steam, offers roughly an hour of content split into two parts: an opening, story-driven section that establishes tone and character, followed by a later, action-heavy sequence.

Neverway follows Fiona, a profoundly depressed young woman who relocates to a remote island to become a farmer and pursue a quieter life. Alongside crop tending and the possibility of neighbourly relationships, the narrative layers hauntings from Fiona’s past and combat encounters that draw comparisons to classic action-adventure design.

The game is developed by ColdBlood Inc, a studio founded by Isadora Sophia, formerly a senior engineer at Microsoft, and Pedro Medeiros, the artist known for work on Celeste and Towerfall. The soundtrack is composed by Disasterpeace, whose credits include Hyper Light Drifter, Fez and feature work on films such as It Follows. Publishing duties are handled by Outersloth, the label from Innersloth, creators of Among Us.

The Steam prologue is the only playable portion currently available; the full release is slated to arrive on Nintendo Switch and PC in October 2026. The prologue’s mix of atmospheric storytelling and Zelda-like combat is intended to preview both the game’s tone and its gameplay variety ahead of the wider release.

Further details, including a full release date and platform-specific info, are expected closer to October.
