Team Meat's Super Meat Boy 3D will launch on 31 March, the developer confirmed during an Xbox Partner Preview stream. The title arrives on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, Switch 2 and PC, and will be available on Xbox Game Pass at release.

Originally announced in 2025, Super Meat Boy 3D is the third mainline entry in the franchise and the first to adopt fully three-dimensional level design. The series' core premium remains intact: brutally precise platforming that demands tight input timing, with wall-sliding, rapid directional changes and short, deadly runs from point A to point B.

The signature replay feature returns. Successful runs are accompanied by a fast-forwarded procession of all prior failures, preserving the series' darkly comic flourish as players watch past attempts collide with the finished run.

XPLog's hands-on session with the first world highlighted how a new spatial plane alters level construction and obstacle sequencing. Depth and camera considerations allow Team Meat to rework classic trial-and-error puzzles into multi-layered challenges, while the faster, twitch-focused movement feels faithful to the franchise's DNA.

Gameplay in three dimensions brings fresh hazards and routing choices without diluting the series' demand for pixel-perfect precision. Early impressions indicate that the control scheme, when paired with carefully-crafted encounters, maintains the tension and satisfaction fans expect from Super Meat Boy.
