Housemarque's director on Saros offered a cautious, non-committal response when pressed about plans to bring the studio's latest title to PC, as recent reporting suggests PlayStation is moving back toward console exclusivity.
Saros launched for PlayStation 5 with Housemarque emphasising the PS5 launch in public statements. Asked directly about a potential PC release, Saros director Gregory Louden said: "Today we're only talking about Saros and the launch on the PlayStation 5." The reply provided no commitment one way or the other.
The response arrives in the context of a shifting PlayStation strategy. Sony previously widened its first-party catalogue onto PC, with titles such as Returnal, God of War, God of War Ragnarök and Marvel's Spider-Man 2 receiving PC ports in recent years. Returnal, Housemarque's sci-fi roguelite action shooter, arrived on PC in 2023 after debuting as a PS5 exclusive in 2021.
Recent reporting at Bloomberg, however, indicates PlayStation may be charting a course back to tighter console exclusivity. Bloomberg's coverage specifically named Ghost of Yōtei and Saros among recent projects that will not be released on PC under that reported direction.
With Louden limiting comment to the PS5 launch, and Bloomberg's report signalling a potential return to exclusives, Saros currently appears more likely to remain a PlayStation 5 exclusive than to join the growing list of PlayStation titles that have been ported to PC. The situation remains subject to change as official announcements arrive.
