Double Fine Productions' next release, Kiln, will launch on 23 April 2026 for Xbox, PlayStation 5 and PC, and will be available day one on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, the developer and publisher have confirmed.

The title is listed among Xbox Game Studios' upcoming first-party releases and represents the latest entry from the studio since its acquisition by Microsoft. Kiln's simultaneous release across consoles and PC includes full support for Game Pass subscribers on launch day.

Early playtests are planned ahead of release, although the developer has not specified which platforms will be included. A sign-up page for participation has been opened to register interest. In addition, a Steam open beta is scheduled to run from 9–11 April, indicating that at least some pre-release testing will take place on PC.

The confirmation comes via reporting from Pure Xbox, which first published the launch details and playtest sign-up information.

Further updates on platforms, test formats and participant selection are expected as the developer provides additional details in the run-up to April's launch.
