Playground Games has confirmed that abandoning support for Xbox One will allow Forza Horizon 6 to receive more ambitious post‑launch support than previous entries in the series.

In an update shared as part of an IGN First video, and reported by Pure Xbox, the studio said removing the constraints of older hardware has "freed our hands a little bit" and that FH6 "has more potential" in terms of updates and downloadable content.

The comment places an emphasis on expanded live‑service ambitions after Forza Horizon 5, which received a steady stream of seasonal content, expansions and technical updates following launch. Playground framed the move as a way to pursue larger‑scale updates and DLC without needing to maintain parity with last‑generation consoles.

Playground Games stopped short of outlining exact post‑launch plans, schedules or the scale of future expansions, instead stressing that the studio expects FH6's live‑service roadmap to be more flexible now the title will target only current‑generation systems.

Further details and concrete announcements are expected in future communications from the developer and publisher.
