Former Overwatch director Jeff Kaplan has criticised a vocal strain of gaming fandom he terms "nerd baby rage" after unveiling his new project, the open-world survival shooter The Legend of California.
Speaking publicly following the announcement, Kaplan delivered a blunt message to those who loudly complain about games they do not intend to play, saying: "Shut the f*ck up, no one cares." He argued that developers do not need to listen to commentators who are not part of a title's intended audience and who amplify negativity for attention.
