Amazon Prime Video has cast Ed Skrein as Baldur for its forthcoming adaptation of God of War, according to Push Square.
Baldur, the Norse god whose confrontation with Kratos helps set the events of Santa Monica Studio's God of War (2018) in motion, will be portrayed by the London-born actor. Skrein's credits cited by the report include roles in Deadpool (as Ajax) and Jurassic World: Rebirth (as Bobby Atwater).
The announcement was accompanied by a visual comparison between Skrein and the game character. The casting represents the latest step in assembling the TV adaptation, which seeks to bring the PlayStation franchise's take on Norse mythology and its central character, Kratos, to a live-action format on Amazon Prime Video.
