Developer Fumi Games has confirmed a last-minute delay for Mouse: P.I. For Hire, moving the Cuphead-style, noir-inspired first-person shooter to 16 April 2026. The studio posted the change to its online channels this week, citing a desire to "deliver you the best game we can" as the reason for the brief postponement.
Mouse: P.I. For Hire was first announced in 2023 and has drawn attention for its distinct visual style and retro-inspired action. A previously reported target of March 2026 was considered locked in late last year, but the team elected to take a few extra weeks of development time ahead of launch.
The announcement framed the delay as a final push to polish the experience ahead of release on Xbox. Fumi Games described the extension as necessary to address remaining work and ensure the title meets the studio's quality standards.
The revised release date of 16 April 2026 applies to the Xbox launch. The studio's message, posted across its social channels and highlighted by Pure Xbox, stressed commitment to shipping a finished product rather than rushing to meet the earlier window.
Fans tracking the project since its 2023 reveal can expect further updates from Fumi Games as launch approaches and additional platforms or editions, if any, are confirmed.
