Bethesda has deployed Update 1.2 for The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim Anniversary Edition on Nintendo Switch 2, addressing several performance and control issues that affected the game's launch on the platform. The patch adds a new 60 Hz option for smoother gameplay and introduces a visual-priority mode that caps the frame rate, alongside a range of stability and bug fixes.
- New 60 Hz mode: Players can now choose a higher-refresh option aimed at improving frame pacing and responsiveness on compatible displays.
- Visual vs performance toggle: The update lets you prioritize visuals or frame-rate; choosing visuals engages a 30 fps cap to maintain consistent image quality.
- Improved FPS stability: Known stuttering and frame drops in specific areas have been targeted with optimizations to reduce sudden slowdowns.
- Controller and bug fixes: Multiple issues have been corrected, including problems reported with Joy-Con 2 controllers and other game-breaking or nuisance bugs.
If you experienced choppiness or controller quirks after the Switch 2 release, this patch aims to make the Anniversary Edition more playable. As always, make sure your system is connected to the internet and download the latest update to apply these changes.
