Neon Indian and Panama allegedly set to appear on GTA VI radio amid separate leaks
Two musicians have separately suggested they will appear on Grand Theft Auto VI's in-game radio, with UK and international fans picking up on social posts and a podcast that hint at further collaboration between artists and developer Rockstar Games.
Panama appeared to confirm inclusion in a now-deleted Instagram comment that was first spotted by modder Razed and shared by the account videotechuk_. A fan who said they discovered Panama through GTA V and Forza Horizon 2 prompted a response from the band's official account: "I’ve got a song called 'Back To Life' I wrote with Poolside. It’ll be on GTA VI." The reply has since been removed from the post and Rockstar Games has not issued an official confirmation.
Neon Indian frontman Alan Palomo, meanwhile, broached the topic during a recent podcast. Palomo, whose Neon Indian track "Change of Coast" became a fan favourite in GTA V and featured in the GTA Online opening cutscene at launch, said he wrote that song with Rockstar's thematic direction in mind. He recalled the rapid writing process and described the licensing experience for GTA V as the best he has had.
On continued involvement with Rockstar, Palomo said: "It ain't the end of me and Rockstar Games. I won't… that's all I'm gonna say. I can't discuss more but, but yeah…" He also offered praise for the studio: "My experience with them (Rockstar Games) was actually quite fascinating. Shoutout to those dudes, great dudes." These comments were conversational and suggest further collaboration rather than constitute a formal announcement.
Neither Panama's Instagram comment nor Palomo's podcast announcement were accompanied by an official playlist or press release from Rockstar. The developer has previously been selective about revealing radio and soundtrack details, often confirming components close to a game's release.
Wider context: other musician claims and leaks
These new indications are the latest in a string of artist statements and leaks about GTA VI's soundtrack. They join a number of other musician claims that have circulated this year, some of which remain unverified by Rockstar:
- Skrilla has claimed his track "Doot Doot 6 7" will appear in GTA VI.
- ScHoolboy Q posted on Twitter in February 2024 that his music will be in GTA VI.
- T-Pain has stated he has worked on GTA VI with Rockstar.
- Jermaine Dupri said in an interview that "Drake has his own radio station" in the game.
- A leak earlier this year suggested DJ Khaled would host his own station at launch.
Some soundtrack elements were officially revealed through GTA VI Trailer 2, which confirmed several songs and set the tone for the game's radio offerings. However, the full radio lineup and station hosts remain subject to official confirmation from Rockstar.
What is confirmed and what is not
It is confirmed that Neon Indian previously featured on GTA V — "Change of Coast" and later "Polish Girl" were used across different releases — and that Rockstar has a history of licensing well-known and niche tracks for its in-game radio stations. What remains unconfirmed is whether Panama's "Back To Life" or any new Neon Indian material will definitively appear in GTA VI.
Rockstar Games did not respond immediately to a request for comment. Fans and the modding community continue to scrutinise social media and developer communications for further confirmation as the game's launch approaches.
Note: The information about Panama's Instagram comment and Alan Palomo's podcast comments derive from social posts and the podcast respectively; neither constitutes an official Rockstar announcement. Where possible the reporting has relied on the primary posts and recordings that remain publicly accessible or were captured by third parties prior to deletion.
