Silent Hill: Townfall is the latest entry in Konami's storied horror franchise, due on PS5 in 2026. Developed by Screen Burn, the studio behind the sci-fi thriller Observation, Townfall was revealed in a trailer that sets a bleak, atmospheric tone for the new instalment.

The game follows protagonist Simon Ordell, who is called back to the island of St. Amelia to "put things right." The trailer presents a town shrouded in heavy fog and apparently abandoned, though repeated hints suggest the settlement is far from at rest. As Simon pushes deeper into the island, fragments of a troubled past begin to surface, driving the narrative and the player’s need to uncover connections between character and place.

Gameplay in the reveal leans on exploration and investigation, with an emphasis on environmental storytelling and dread. Visuals lean into oppressive weather and derelict locales, reinforcing the series’ signature blend of psychological horror and eerie suburban decay. The new title follows the momentum generated by recent series efforts such as the Silent Hill 2 remake and the fan-favourite Silent Hill F.

Screen Burn’s pedigree with Observation suggests a focus on atmosphere and narrative design, though specific details about mechanics, length, or additional platforms remain limited. The PS5 is confirmed as the launch platform, with a release window set for 2026.

Further information is expected in the months ahead as the release approaches, including deeper looks at story structure, gameplay systems and any potential editions or bundles to accompany the launch.
