Bandai Namco has announced that the original PS1 release of Time Crisis will be added to the PS Plus Premium classics catalogue for PS5 and PS4, with support for gyro aiming on modern controllers.
Push Square first reported the addition, noting that the emulated PS1 version will arrive through Sony's PS Plus Premium tier. The release preserves the on-rails shooter format of the 1990s original while adapting input for contemporary hardware by offering motion-controlled aiming rather than the arcade light gun or original peripheral.
Time Crisis is notable for its foot-pedal cover mechanic and fast-paced, light-gun gameplay. The move to gyro aiming will allow players to emulate the original targeting experience using DualSense and DualShock controllers' motion sensors, aligning the classic with other modernised retro releases.
Alongside Time Crisis, Bandai Namco has also confirmed Tekken: Dark Resurrection for the PS Plus Premium classics lineup. The inclusion reinforces the publisher's continued support for Sony's classics catalogue, following a string of legacy re-releases and emulations.
The additions form part of PS Plus Premium's ongoing effort to expand its retro library via software emulation. Exact availability dates and region-specific rollout details are expected to be published by Sony and Bandai Namco in the coming days.
