Game Freak has set a firm release date for its upcoming fantasy action RPG Beast of Reincarnation: 4 August 2026. The announcement arrived during the PlayStation State of Play broadcast on 12 February 2026, accompanied by a new trailer showcasing the game's characters, enemies and environments.

Previously teased during an Xbox Developer Direct presentation, Beast of Reincarnation places players in a post-apocalyptic Japan as Emma, a swordswoman partnered with a wolf companion named Koo. Billed as a "one person, one dog" action RPG, the title emphasises close-quarters melee combat and an intimate bond between protagonist and animal ally.

The trailer highlights confrontations with strange robotic foes and vast plant-like monsters across lush forests and ruined facilities, underlining a blend of stylish action and atmospheric worldbuilding rather than open-world scale. Combat appears focused on fluid swordplay and companion-driven interactions, with encounters ranging from fast, skirmish‑style fights to larger, cinematic set pieces.

Beast of Reincarnation will launch on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Further updates and retailer listings are expected in the run-up to the 4 August release. Full coverage of the State of Play reveal is available via Game Informer: gameinformer.com.
