Guerrilla Games has formally unveiled Horizon Hunters Gathering, a cooperative multiplayer entry in the Horizon universe coming to PlayStation 5 and PC. The game pitches up to three players as Hunters in a stylized American West, combining rapid, skill-driven encounters with class roles and a roguelite progression loop.

  • Three-player co-op: Players choose from an initial trio of distinct Hunters—each with unique weapons and playstyles—designed to complement one another in coordinated fights against massive machines.
  • Faster, tactical combat: Battles emphasize targeting specific machine parts and chaining abilities for strategic takedowns; combat leans toward over-the-top, action-forward encounters rather than the slower pace of mainline Horizon titles.
  • Class systems and perks: Hunters can assume roles such as support, tank, or damage dealer, and a roguelite build mechanic grants semi-random perks during runs that shape each playthrough's strategy.
  • Story and social features: A narrative campaign—fully canonical and playable solo with AI companions or with friends—will expand over time, while a central social hub called Hunters Gathering facilitates connections, customization, and matchmaking.
  • Launch content: Guerrilla says four expansive maps will be available at release, with the promise of additional Hunters, missions, and ongoing narrative updates post-launch.
