Nintendo closed its latest Direct with a slate of Bethesda ports for Switch 2, culminating in the announcement that The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered will arrive on the console later this year. The reveal marks Oblivion’s first appearance on a Nintendo platform.

Originally released in its remastered form in April 2025, the project is more accurately described as a remake: the 2006 RPG has been rebuilt in Unreal Engine 5. The update includes a significantly reworked user interface and refinements to core systems such as hit detection and visual effects. The release also bundles the Knights of the Nine and Shivering Isles expansions.

The Direct also confirmed Switch 2 ports for other Bethesda-backed releases, including Fallout 4: Anniversary Edition and Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Oblivion Remastered’s arrival on Switch 2 completes the trio of major Bethesda entries announced for Nintendo’s next console within the presentation.

No specific date beyond a 2026 window was provided at the reveal. Further details, including performance targets and controller options for the new hardware, are expected to follow in subsequent announcements.
