The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales arrives 18 June

Square Enix's HD-2D role-playing game The Adventures of Elliot: The Millennium Tales is set to launch on Nintendo's Switch 2 on 18 June. Versions for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S and PC are planned and are likely to release on the same date, though publisher confirmation for those platforms remains pending.

A new trailer released during today's Nintendo Direct highlights the eras players will visit as protagonist Elliot travels through time. The presentation outlined four distinct ages:

Sponsored
  • Age of Safekeeping the era where Elliot originates;
  • Age of Reconstruction a period following near human extinction;
  • Age of Magic a high-magic epoch filled with supernatural forces;
  • Age of Budding the birth of civilisation and early societal growth.

The trailer teases new characters and locations unique to each era, as well as items and weapons that will be exclusive to specific time periods. The HD-2D presentation continues Square Enix's recent approach of blending retro-inspired pixel art with modern lighting and effects.

Further platform confirmation and additional details are expected from Square Enix ahead of the June release. Full coverage and the trailer are available from Game Informer: gameinformer.com.
