Square Enix has confirmed that Final Fantasy VII Rebirth will launch on Nintendo Switch 2 on 3 June 2026.
The title, originally released in 2024, is the direct sequel to Final Fantasy VII Remake and takes the cast beyond the confines of Midgar into a more expansive, open-ended series of environments. The project is directed by Naoki Hamaguchi, who is also overseeing development on the untitled third entry in the remake trilogy.

The Switch 2 release represents a new platform arrival for the 2024 release. Further details, including edition options and pricing for the Switch 2 version, have not been disclosed by Square Enix at this time.
