Nintendo has set an April 16 release for Tomodachi Life: Living The Dream on Switch (the game will also run on Switch 2). The follow-up to the 2014 3DS title brings expanded character tools and social systems to Yoomian Island while teasing relationship milestones like weddings and offspring.

  • Release and platform: Launches April 16 for Nintendo Switch hardware and is compatible with Switch 2; it's the official sequel to the original 2014 handheld entry.
  • Robust Mii creation: New options let you pick gender (male, female, nonbinary) and dating preferences, add face paint, and personalize clothing and building exteriors—down to hand-drawn pets and environment art.
  • Personality and behavior systems: Assign traits, give characters unique animations and catchphrases, and steer conversations by typing topics that are voiced in-game to shape interactions.
  • Household and social play: Up to eight characters can share a single residence; you can place characters together to encourage friendships, romances, or awkward confrontations.
  • Romance mechanics get spotlighted: The reveal highlighted crushes, proposals, rejections, and choice-driven courting scenes, with the team hinting at wedding and baby features to come.
