Nintendo will host a second Direct dedicated to The Super Mario Galaxy Movie on Sunday 25 January. The livestream is scheduled to begin at 14:00 GMT (6:00 PT / 9:00 ET) and will be available via Nintendo's YouTube channel.

Nintendo's announcement makes clear that the presentation is strictly limited to the film. The company states: "Please note that no game information will be included in this presentation." The weekend timing is notable, as Nintendo rarely stages Directs on a Sunday.

The last Super Mario Galaxy Movie Direct, held in November, revealed a new trailer and behind-the-scenes material. That presentation introduced major new characters, including Rosalina (voiced by Brie Larson) and Bowser Jr. (voiced by Benny Safdie), and featured updates from executive producer Shigeru Miyamoto and Illumination CEO Chris Meledandri, who indicated the studio was weeks away from finalising the film.

Viewers seeking the stream can tune in on Nintendo's official YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/user/Nintendo. Expect the Direct to expand on the footage and details revealed in November; Nintendo has explicitly ruled out any accompanying video-game announcements or tie-ins during the presentation.
