Bandai Namco has unveiled Age 1000, a new and cryptic entry in the Dragon Ball franchise, during the Dragon Ball Genkidamatsuri event.
The debut trailer centres on an original white‑haired character drawn by the late franchise creator Akira Toriyama. The character’s outfit and palette draw parallels with Gohan’s Great Saiyan costume and notably features the Capsule Corp insignia.
Footage in the trailer shows the new character effortlessly dispatching masked assailants inside what appears to be a digital simulation before transforming into a Super Saiyan. The reveal closes with a brief silhouette of Goku, offering a tease of familiar faces amid the new cast.
Bandai Namco’s press release states: “The world of Dragon Ball continues to expand with a brand-new Dragon Ball world and its entirely original characters— all brought to life by Akira Toriyama. Set for 2027, the 'Age 1000' project will introduce even more unique characters as the adventure unfolds.”
Key details remain unconfirmed, with neither the game’s genre nor its target platforms announced. Bandai Namco has promised further information during Dragon Ball Games Battle Hour on 18–19 April in Los Angeles.
Coverage of the announcement and the trailer was reported by Game Informer. Full details and the original trailer are expected to follow during the April event.
