EA and Respawn have announced that Apex Legends will stop running on the original Nintendo Switch when Season 30 begins. Season 29 will be delivered as the final update for the legacy Switch build, and players can continue to access the game until 4 August 2026.

  • Season 29 is confirmed as the last scheduled update for the original Switch version.
  • The service for the legacy Switch client will be discontinued on 4 August 2026, coinciding with the launch of Season 30.
  • After that date the game will be unplayable on the original Switch and will no longer connect to Apex Legends servers.
  • The Switch 2 release, which arrived last August, will continue to be supported, so players have an upgrade path if they wish to keep playing on Nintendo hardware.

Players on the older Switch should plan ahead if they want to finish any ongoing Battle Pass progress or preserve other in-game activity before the shutdown. No further updates will arrive for that legacy client, marking the end of its online support lifecycle.
