Product Development Division 4 was headed by Yasumi Matsuno in 1996, they would bring games with his signature dramatic writing style such as Final Fantasy Tactics and Vagrant Story.

After the merging with Enix Corporation in 2003, they would simply be known as Square Enix Product Development Division 4.
